What's on next week: December 4-10

It's a quiet week here at CST, the last webinar of our 2017 series will air on Thursday and we are hosting several fully booked training sessions. All the previous webinars are now available to stream, so why not check them out and catch up on anything you missed?

Webinar

Precise Characterization of Multipin Connectors

December 7th, 2017
17:00 CET (UTC +01:00)

Join us next Thursday for the final webinar of our 2017 series.
Connectors are an integral part of any electronic system, allowing multiple parts of one system to interconnect. However, they represent a discontinuity, and this discontinuity causes reflections, differential-to-common-mode conversion and radiation. All these phenomena are more intense at higher frequencies and they can significantly distort the transmitted signal which leads to the reduction of transmission speed/bitrate.

CST Automotive Conference 2017: A great success

This year's Automotive Conference in Neckarsulm, Germany was booked to capacity as we welcomed attendees from 14 European countries as well as the US, Singapore, and Japan. Companies represented included Audi, BMW, JLR, Renault, Volkswagen, Volvo as well as tier 1 & 2 suppliers including Autoliv, Brose, Continental, Delphi, MAGNA, Rheinmetall Automotive, Robert Bosch, TE Connectivity, Valeo, Yamaichi as well as several research institutes, universities and service providers.
We held a panel discussion at the end of the conference with representatives from Audi, BMW,
Continental, Robert Bosch and TE Connectivity discussed how to better cooperate regarding simulation, how to define requirements, how to validate them, how to exchange simulation models and how to deal with the many variants and car models. It was nice to hear BMW and Bosch saying, that using a combination of CST STUDIO SUITE and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform would be probably the best and most efficient way to guarantee smooth workflows and fruitful cooperation.

See the full program of presentations here.

This is the fourth year in a row that CST has held a dedicated conference for the automotive industry. In 2014, we held the first automotive related conference in Bundang near Seoul, Korea. We realized that specific conferences are more interesting for our customers and prospects than general EM workshops. That first conference was a success with good attendance which we credit to its original content as a specialists meeting.

In 2015 CST held our second automotive conference at BMW World Munich and again, we were impressed by the number of attendees who came out. We were asked to have the conference on a regular basis, and many of the attendees told us that it was both informative and beneficial for networking as the conference provides a non-competitive environment for the exchange of ideas in the industry.

In 2016, CST held the third conference at the Henry Ford Center in Detroit, as with previous conferences, it was well received and according to an attendee-“A perfect platform for knowledge exchange.” These words could easily describe this year's conference as well, so thank you to everyone to attended, we could not do this without you!

We look forward to continuing engagement with the automotive industry as it continues to innovate and evolve.

What's on next week: November 27-December 3

We've got a busy week ahead with plenty of training and we're excited to present the next installment of our webinar series. We just wrapped up several workshops and our 2017 Automotive Conference. We hope to see you at in Marseille if you are attending and be sure to register today for our Thursday webinar.

Webinars

Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Simulation

November 30th
17:00 CET

This presentation focuses on the simulation of E3 including lightning strikes, high-power electromagnetic pulses (EMP) and high intensity radiated fields (HIRF). Simulation is playing an increasingly important role in evaluating system performance when subjected to E3 and investigating strategies for protection. A new approach in CST Studio for modeling radiated susceptibility using a virtual reverberation chamber model will be presented.

Register today.
